Fellowship

“The Administrative Fellowship program connects Fellows with amazing executive mentors and career opportunities at both corporate and facility levels throughout the health network.  The organization has a strong value and commitment in developing young professionals to become leaders within healthcare.”  Alice, Fellow 2008-2009

Fellowships

At Dignity Health, our diversity reflects the people we serve, and the Dignity Health Fellowship Program is one way we make a difference in our communities. The program was started in 1993 to give future healthcare leaders the opportunity to gain administrative, strategic and operational experience in our growing and dynamic industry.

How the Program Works

The Fellowship is typically a 12-month rotational program that includes six months at a Dignity Health corporate office and six months at a Dignity Health acute care facility.  Our goal is to help highly-motivated, talented people develop the skills and experiences they’ll need for a successful healthcare career.

As a Fellow, you’ll take on increasing levels of responsibility throughout the year. Projects will be assigned to you by your Executive Sponsor.  These projects are designed to help you develop your leadership, strategic and management skills so you can grow your career and contribute to the overall mission of Dignity Health.  Projects have included:

  • Cardiac Service Line Assessment
  • Credit Rating Agency Presentations
  • Community Benefit Assessment for Dignity Healthy System
  • Physician Alignment Strategy Resource Guide Development

To ensure you have an optimal Fellowship experience, the structure can be customized based on your development goals and interests.

“I started out as an Intern for Dignity Health and came back summer after summer because of the organization's dedication to professional development and its commitment to the community.  Not only was I learning and being challenged in the workplace, I realized that the projects I worked on and the departments I was a part of strongly resonated with the organization's living mission and values.”  Kriselle, Fellow 2009-2010
